house inspection

So the house inspection was yesterday and there were, of course, some various things they found-then again this house is 70 years old-so really-its gonna have some problems. The garage roof needs to be replaced as well as the kitchen sink. There is a toliet downstairs in a little like closet-but it does not work, and it said the a/c and heater were new but the inspector said they aren’t….so…that’s where our lawyer comes in…we’ll see what we can do! We also locked in our mortgage yesterday and THANK YOU bad economy-yesterday was a bad market day so we got a rate of 5%....awesome!! so hopefully there will be nice hardwood floors under the carpet-which they say exist..and we can have hardwood floors throughout the upstairs! YEAH!! So if all goes as planned-one month from today we will be moving our stuff in!! AHHHHH

it needs a bit of updating...some paint...some loving care, better furniture-aka our own, some eventual remodeling (bathroom, kitchen, and attic) but all in all I think it will be a great place:)

the house....

is going to be ours!  it looks like we are going to get the house-the one with the kitchen in the basement...which we have plans to one day move to a more normal location-like upstairs..the guy agreed to meet us in the middle on the price! ...good bye money in these next few months but hello space and our own place!:)  I think it was destiny bc my grandpa grew up in Forest Park- (when he came over here with his family from germany(...actually only few blocks west of where we live now and my grandparents lived here after they got married-as well as much of my extended family...actually i still have family in forest park/oak park...and the street name.... Lathrop..was a last name on my dads side....so hello fate! it was meant to be.....

i went to a garage sale today and found some great stuff!! a Lois Lenski book being one of them....(i love lois lenski!) and a cute little lazy susan...which we have been wanting.....and where will all these things fit best? in a NEW house!! ahhhhhhhhh

I love crafting things

Which is why I joined the crafters choice book club...I got all these books for 30.00 and I need to only buy one more in the next year...that's awesome. The martha stewart book alone costs 35.00 so I consider it quite the deal...

lately

-i have been attempting to crochet something other than little creatures..to see if I could actually crochet bigger stitches well...I decided to make a baby blanket...i did not count my stitches correct to start with so now I am going to call it baby doll blanket..but it seems to actually be working and I can actually crochet things other than animals.....which is exciting and keeps my mind engaged while i veg on the couch at night and do something other than mindlessly watch tv.....

-the weather the last 3 days sucks...im sick of cold, rainy days....where is the sunshine?!!?

-i seem to frequent the Y at the same time as the velcro shoe man who likes to take control of the tv remote for one of the tvs.....tonight he was flipping between a couple spanish stations and pretty much just sitting on the exercise bike....maybe he doesn't have a tv or cable at home...i dont get it

-i am fed up with my leg...it is doing slighty better and i ran a bit to see how it would do and NOPE still in pain to run....AHHHHHH...i am just sick of this....so i walked 2 miles...or more like half limped out 2 miles..ugg-i want to be able to run again......patience christy..

-we are going to look at more houses tomorrow night....hopefully there will be something in a location we desire...and we are still planning on putting a 2nd offer on the house on the house we wanted-that darn owner

-on friday ben has a piano recital....they are calling it soiree (sp?)..,pretty much a fancy word for adult piano recital.. but im still looking foward to it:)

-this is pretty much my exciting life at the moment...somedays i desire exciting and thrilling things to tell my blog readers but that might mean drama or disaster in my life...so ill stick with the ordinary mundane for now...

new chairs

we have been needing new dining room chairs for a long time now....and we finally got some! thanks to the crate and barrel outlet....have i mentioned I LOVE that store?!  so pardon the messiness of the dining room (its bad)....   the chairs are not the same color but they seem to still look pretty good and really who cares-as long as they don't creak and sound like they are falling to pieces they work for us!:)

Auxiliary

Ben likes to listen to tapes of a show he records off NPR while he drives..and he likes his ipod..I don't blame him bc I do too. So he bought an auxiliary input to install in the new civic...it came in the mail tonight and now 2 hours later and a few dings and dents around the stereo (because we skipped a step of unscrewing some screws and couldn't get it out...therefore denting it up a bit...grrr) its like a brand new radio. I think I might just need to purchase one for my little only radio civic...I get tired of listening to the radio or using my fm transmitter for the ipod...esp when there are wwaayy too many stations in chicagoland to find a clear station...

So last night at the Y there was a man on one of the exercise bikes and he was wearing velcro tennis shoes...odd. But even odder is that he got ahold of a remote for one of the tvs and wasn't really biking but rather flipping through the stations the ENTIRE time...sometimes I just wonder-who the heck are these people and where the heck do they come from?

if you notice the brand of this clothing is "Chubbette Fashions" somehow I don't think that would fly in these current times....nothing like telling the kid outright that they really are fat because they wear Chubbette clothing

and who knew you could reduce your hips while you rest!?! why the heck do I run every night if this wonderful contraption is-well was-out there?!

Grrrrrr

That's how I feel about my left upper thigh...I, obviously, have some sort of injury-considering I have been in pain just walking for the last almost 2 weeks and I can't run AT ALL on it...even putting more pressure/weight on just one leg to put a sock on or a pant leg...OUCH. It makes me angry.. I was doing good with running..up to 3 miles a night..and a pretty much consistent 10 minute mile...tonight it took me a half hour to walk only 2 miles.. I am not a happy camper...

no pants tea party

yesterday sienna helped my dad wash the dishes....her shirt and pants ended up soaked so my mom put them in the dryer....in the meantime nikki was drinking tea and sienna wanted to drink out of a mug too...my mom put water in this tiny mug and they had a no-pants tea party...except that nikki kept her pants on:)
