Having fun!

In true fashion I've been ignoring my blog again. My parents are visiting and taking a tour of Steinway while Sophia and I hang out at a mall in Queens. You have to be 16 for the tour so Sophia has a few years to go. We've been having all sorts of fun with them here and have even more fun stuff planned for the next couple days.

We went to the city on Saturday and the weather was great- since then it's taken a cold turn. Ugg.  I'm waiting - not so patiently anymore-for you Spring!

Sunday we hit up our favorite little zoo at Bear Mountain and also checked out the Walkway Over the Hudson- both were nice and chilly but we survived.

Yesterday we went to Stony Point and a few random places and ended the day with Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. Also a freezing cold day but we bundled up and had fun!

We've packed it in the last few days and Sophia has been a real trooper with all the time in the car. I figured an hour or so at the mall play area and a donut this morning was just what she needed for being so good.

Central Park

We decided to make Sunday our Central Park day. Even though my darn tailbone hurt like #*&$! I sucked it up and we had a great time.  We hopped on the train again and headed down to Manhattan.

We bought a family zoo pass a few weeks ago that gives us access to 4 NYC zoos and the aquarium. One of the zoos included is Central Park so we hit that up first and had a blast. It's a small zoo but so fun that it's right smack in the middle of the city.

And these might be my most favorite pictures ever....

After the zoo we took a stroll through the park. It was chilly but we enjoyed every bit of the walk

Sophia was a great little subway rider

And a monkey on the train ride home

We dropped Nikki off at the airport this morning and were sad to see her go but happy we had such a blast while she was here!  Come back soon Nik!

NYC with Nik

Phew. Nikki and I officially conquered NY today. And we did it all with my bruised tailbone.. more on that in a minute..let's back up a few days. Nikki flew out Wednesday to visit us for a few days and we've been having a blast! We drove up to Bear Mountain on Thursday and randomly stopped by Stony Point, NY on the way. We hoped to see the lighthouse and slipped and fell up the un-plowed path until we made it. We saw the lighthouse and... Bald eagles! 4 of them to be exact. We had no idea that Stony Point was one of the best places to see Bald Eagles on the Hudson River- we just wanted to see the lighthouse and beautiful views but got much more!

After the surprise eagle sightings we drove up to Bear Mountain and visited the zoo. It was chilly but fun.

So back to NYC....This morning we got up nice and early to head into NYC on the train (which is only a 45 min train ride from my house to Grand Central- so awesome). While walking downstairs for my breakfast I slipped on the stairs and bruised my tailbone. ( I mean- seriously?) And it hurt/s like heck. I almost passed out like 3 times from the pain and had to stay on the couch for about an hour.  I was so upset but determined to still have a fun day so I took a bunch of ibuprofen (numerous times throughout the day) and we set off on the train an juke later then planned. It was a bit tough to walk but I pushed through slowly and we hit up everything we hoped to see! Tomorrow Ben and Sophia are going to join us and we're planning to hit up Central Park. It might be another  bit of a slow walk with my bum butt... but we'll still have fun.  And here are some pics of Nik and NYC-We rocked this city today and had a blast doing it...
