How has it been 1 week and I haven't blogged anything? Geez...slacker. Sorry! I guess this last week was not fun or blog worthy. My Silhouette SD came in the mail and I have been cutting all sorts of fun things out with it! I ordered the pen attachment so I can sketch stuff too..which should be ultra fun. On Thursday night Ben and I were hanging out enjoying the night, I took Oliver for a walk. When I went in to feed Sophia before I went to sleep she had thrown up all over her bed and herself..and it was matted in her hair. AHHH I felt like such a terrible Mom! She was in there for about 2 hours sleeping in puke!:( So we gave her a bath, changed the sheets...and she puked again...and one more time after that--on me. After that we set the pack and play up in the bedroom so we could keep track of her closer and be right there. She didn't have anymore issues the rest of the night but I stayed home with her on Friday just in case. She was sleepy but had a good day. I even got some pool time in the afternoon while she slept.

Yesterday we met some friends for breakfast and hung out and in the afternoon Ben and I went in the pool while Sophia slept. And today was pretty much a repeat...except we went to church...but spent all afternoon in the pool. Nikki came over and we swam for almost 3 hours and it was AWESOME.

So yeah..I guess that is all I have been up to--nothing much. I need to show you some of the cool cut-outs from my Silhouette AND  I need to find some good markers to use for sketching stuff too.  Sophia has started cruising around on the furniture and we have even caught her standing up for a few brief seconds all on her own....looks like walking isn't too far away!

I will leave you with some pictures of what Sophia did yesterday afternoon:

laugh attack

We didn't do too much around here again this weekend. It was a rainy and wet Saturday and today the sun was hiding behind the clouds most of the so we stayed indoors. We re-organized the work room and I should've taken photos because it looks ten times better...with new shelves and bins..but I didn't take any.... plus they would probably be boring to you. Sophia spent some time reading and sitting in her chair. She loves to cross her ankles when she sits and it cracks me up.

The best part of the weekend happened about an hour ago. I was on my computer and she was on my lap. I opened Photo Booth to take a few pictures of her and I together. This showed up on the screen. I had just loaded the new OS on my mac and was trying out a few new Photo Booth features:

I admit-this is a terrible and funny photo and it made me laugh when I took it BUT someone laughed even harder when they saw it. Watch below (ignore my lazy sunday afternoon outfit):

Do you even know how hard Ben and I cracked up over her doing this!! She just kept laughing as I flipped through the photos.  I have never heard her laugh at anything besides us making faces and tickling her-but I guess this photo hit a funny bone. I love this age she is at right now..and I never want her to grow up...well... I guess it would be nice if she was potty trained and could talk/walk....but she is just so darn cute!

Silhouette SD

This little baby is on the way to my door any day now....

Do you even know the stuff this thing can make!? The possibilities....endless!  AHHHH I can't even wait! I debated on getting this but I have been saving up my Chase Rewards points...which ends today-so annoying...and I had enough to pay for pretty much the whole thing. I think it will be a great addition to my crafty life:)

plants

Yowzers it was a hot weekend. We spent much of the afternoon in the pool and it was divine....even Sophia enjoyed splashing all around. Yesterday we hung around the house and then went out to Elgin with Ben while he tuned for the orchestra. While we waited there were some chairs in the room and Sophia started pushing one around AND walking behind it..all around the room! I thought because she wasn't doing any cruising on furniture that maybe she wasn't ready to walk but I think she is! She has been using her little walk behind thing all over the house:)

Sophia has been waking up quite a few times during the night and this morning wouldn't eat and was fussy...I thought maybe she was teething BUT it looks like thrush....seriously....what is up with her and all the yeast infection related issues?! Poor thing.... time to contact the Dr again...uggg.

Her we are hanging out and reading yesterday. Sophia is loving her Baby Alive doll I found for 50 cents. It makes baby noises and she loves to hug it and snuggle. She also loves to play with the tiny baby bottle...as you can see in her hand:):

Ben bought me a Woolly Pocket for Christmas and I have been waiting to put it up and add plants for a long time. Ben hung it up for me and I bought some plants today....hopefully it will make my blank wall look a bit nicer!

The empty pocket....

The 3 plants I chose:

I decided it looked best with 2 plants and my fake mushrooms

I am leaving the 3rd plant in the hanging basket and will probably hang it by the window. For now it is sitting on the chest and posing for the picture:)

mini makeover

I found these 2 little guys at a Garage Sale on Saturday--.25 each--a deal too good to pass up.

When I saw them I knew right away I wanted to spray paint them white. I bought some cheapo glossy, white spray paint from Wal-Mart and went to town.  While I waited for them to dry I took some pictures of random flowers in my yard:

So here is the final makeover:

The little guy on the left looks kinda cute....the one on the right? The verdict is still out on him. The eyes don't look so great but  he might be ok on a shelf somewhere....we'll see...

43 weeks

(she was not in the mood to smile or give me any fun pictures..so this is what I got....drunk Sophia)

43 weeks...wow. Tomorrow she will be 10 months old..UNBELIEVABLE! We had a full weekend of swimming and hanging out. She enjoys going in the big pool but gets a bit scared of her little float-but her baby pool? She loves that thing!  She enjoyed quite a bit of time in there this weekend--in less than an inch of water:). I need to clean the house and just organize in general....but why do any of that when the weather is perfect for pool time?:)

PHOTOS!

As promised...I am now posting my photos of Cape Cod and the Newport, RI Cliff Walk. The houses on the cliff walk...INSANE mansions. I wish I could've seen them all but the cliff walk is like 7 miles long and some of it is not too accessible---especially with a stroller.

So yeah, Sophia and I went to the Cape Cod National Seashore and went all the way up to the tip. I decided not to pay the $15 bucks for the beaches and opted for a little beach in a town---it was empty and gave the perfect opportunity for  Sophia to get her toes in the ocean. She loves water and the ocean was no different. She was standing in it and wanted to sit down so I finally let her...I think she could've stayed there ALL day if I had let her! She loved it.....we had to leave because she wouldn't stop eating handfuls of sand. So our day in Cape Cod was awesome and OHHH how I wish I had many more days there..so fun. Thankfully Ben was feeling a bit better when we returned and he joined us at the Cliff Walk that night.

We also hit up Niagara Falls on the way home. We had to do the US side since I didn't have my passport. We decided right away that the US side is not NEARLY as nice and picturesque as the Canadian side....but it was still fun to go there. Sophia loved watching/listening to the water.

So after 3 days of driving...we are home....doing a million loads of laundry and looking forward to having tomorrow off to rest from the long journey!
