Christmas

It was a good Christmas...lots of great gifts...good time with family..and here are the pictures to prove it. Oh, I should mention...all of these photos are with my iPhone because....this is a bit of a story... hang in there. See...Nikki and I are in the process of setting up a new blog....yep, we bought a domain name and everything, it's going to be a sister blog about crafts, wedding stuff -(since Nikki got engaged over Christmas-YEAH!!),  thrifting, etc and I decided I wanted a new camera to get better pictures for the blog and just for stuff in general. I have had my Nikon SLR for about 6 years and I was ready to get something new. I had money set aside and decided to buy the Nikon D3200 last Friday. I bought it off Amazon and they guaranteed it to be here by Christmas Eve.  I gave Nikki my old SLR so she can have it for a new camera and I figured...I'll have my new one by Christmas. GUESS WHAT? I have been back and forth with Amazon since Christmas Eve....it never showed up. I complained...they gave me a $60.00 credit...10% of the price..and told me it should show up Thursday. Today is Thursday and guess what? NO CAMERA!? I can't even tell you how aggravated i am with this! I know mistakes happen and things get messed up....but don't guarantee delivery by a certain time and then not be able to stand by it AND then not even deliver it a week later. SERIOUSLY! So I wrote them again tonight...they wrote back..said they would send a free replacement or refund my money. I told them....I want the camera! And I also might've mentioned how a $60.00 credit for not getting it on Christmas Eve might be fine but then 2 days later and it still doesn't arrive...they need to do something....we'll see what happens. All this to say....I only had my iPhone to take photos--which is fine--but 7 mpx compared to 24 mpx? No comparison. Ok...moving on from my rant....here was Christmas:

I decided to bake cookies with Sophia on Christmas Eve...she only cut out 2 and was on her way to bigger and better things...at least I got pictures:

Opening presents from us on Christmas Eve:

NEMO! Nemo was a theme with Christmas this year.....she loves Nemo:

Loving her new Tag Junior books....

Her favorite gift was this little scooter. I wasn't sure how well she would do with it and I found one at Salvation Army for 5 bucks a month ago. I figured for 5 bucks if she couldn't use it...no big deal..but she LOVES it and looks so cute zipping around the house on it:

Helping everyone unwrap presents:

 Visiting Great Grandma:

Watching Grandpa burn all the wrapping paper from Christmas:

It was a great Christmas and I'm so thankful I don't have to return to work until Tuesday!! Whoo hoo!

Tinsel

Well....the tree went down tonight- and all of the needles went with it. We had to get the shop vac out to get them all up. Now we have more room in the living room and a mini tinsel tree I've had for like 10 years. I knew there was a reason I kept it in the attic. I'm sure we look like the grinch house on our block...tree already on the curb. But if other people were growing pine cones they would probably do the same.

Really?

Last night Nikki came over and we opened some presents- she is spending christmas with the boy. Afterwards I noticed something weird on our tree. This tree has been losing needles from the start. 34 buck tree=probably not the best quality- but who cares. Well now I care because the weird things I noticed on our tree are...baby pine cones. Really? They look gross and fall off and frankly, I'm ready for this tree to be gone. It might even be gone before Christmas- poor tree. Then we will be the House without a Christmas Tree... On Christmas no less.

Making Faces

Sophia loved having the camera turned on her tonight. Such a little actress. And I posted this black and white pic on Facebook and her blog but I'm posting it here too because she looks so darn cute! And she looks so old too. Sorry I haven't had much on here lately. I'm working on crocheting my 18th cowl... I've been busy every night this month and it doesn't leave much time for exciting blog posts. :)

Chicago

Yesterday morning we took our annual Christmas trip downtown. We went to the tree at Macy's and the German market. Thankfully we went down early enough that the crowds were pretty slim.

After dinner we headed over to Brookfield for Holiday Magic. The place was packed out but we still had fun. The lights were incredible and all over. We also got holiday Mold-a-Ramas which made all the crowds worth it:)
