FINALLY

I am finally here with an update on my life!! It has been way too long and thankfully we finally have internet at the lovely Motel 6 we are staying at. Poor Ben came down with something yesterday so he stayed back this morning while Sophia and I visited Cape Cod for the day..oh I wish I had more than a day---it was so beautiful! But wait....how about we start at the beginning!?  We arrived in MA last Friday and I put Ben right to work taking care of Sophia---jk---he missed her so it was good to feed her again:)

After we dropped Ben off at Tanglewood every morning Sophia would play the day away:

She also had a nasty diaper rash and required a few sink baths---which she loved. Seriously--this girl LOVES water. The ocean today---if she was allowed to sit in it and play all day--she would..as well as eat the sand. Anyways..:

There was a cute red barn behind the house we were staying in...so I took some photos of it:

and here is the house. We had the first floor. This house was like 3 blocks from downtown Stockbridge---adorable little east coast town:

The fog made for a few more good barn photos.

This is Sophia with food stuck to her chin..she had no idea it was there...and we had to document it. Be glad we didn't document everything because as she was airing out and being naked she pooped on the floor...yep...how sick is that!? I heard grunting and as she crawled away....there it was...ewww

We met Ben for lunch at Tanglewood. This was on his birthday. I was supposed to bring him lunch--I forgot--whoops. Everything was going wrong that day...

 The family at Tanglewood:

Sophia and I took a trail to what I thought was going to be a super cool place---BUT the trail we took--the stroller accessible one--was only a loop...and she hated it....it was only about a mile but seemed like FOREVER with a complaining child. Enjoy the "Sophia in her stroller" pictures. It is kind of hard to pose a kid who won't stay still or in one place for long:

As much as I HATE to do this....I am so tired and I have too many more pictures to put up....from Cape Cod and the Cliff Walk in Newport, RI...It will have to wait until tomorrow. We begin our long journey home tomorrow--We are hoping to stop at Niagara Falls on the way--so there is something to look forward to!:)

Oh here is a teaser photo for you from Cape Cod:

ohhh....and we saw a whale today!! Well...a whale tail.  At the observation point there were a few people watching and yep--we saw it too! SO COOL!!! We watched him/her swim out farther into the ocean. Didn't get a picture bc it was so far away....well, I'm not sure...I have some pictures from that area before I realized he was there and I think the whale tail might be in one or two....anyways..off to bed..

Happy Birthday Ben!!

Yep, today is Bens birthday and what did he do all day? Work! But we met hi m for lunch at Tanglewood and I took this picture:). Sophia and I went to the outlets this morning for a bit AFTER driving for 30 miles on the turnpike. I accidently turned on it and there were no exits for 30 miles. That has kind of been how this day is going for me. Sigh. At least we can celebrate Bens birthday and go out to eat.

And we made it!

We are finally reunited with Ben and couldn't be happier. Sophia did pretty good on the flight and we arrived in one piece:). Going through security was a bit of a challenge with all the stuff but thankfully there was a nice couple behind us that gave us a hand. Sophia enjoyed waving at all the people around the seating area and made all sorts of friends. Even the good looking surfer type dude sitting near us was smitten with her--wasn't expecting that. She did good on the flight--was a bit fussy for about 15 minutes and finally zonked out. And then we landed! Everyone around us complemented on how well she did---i guess they didn't hear the fussing! Ha. So here we are--in the town with no internet or cell service--thankfully just up the road cell service returns--so weird. Today Sophia and I dropped Ben off at Tanglewood and are just taking it easy around the house:). Its rainy and cool out so we will probably just stay around the house--which is how I love vacation to be--lazy:).

forgive me

Forgive me for being a TERRIBLE blogger as of late. I have been so busy with Sophia and we don't really do much after work so I have nothing to write about!! BUT we am leaving on Friday to meet up with Ben again! I can't wait! It has been wwwaayyy too long and I am so ready for a vacation. Western MA & Cape Cod here we come!  There is no phone/internet where Ben is staying so I probably won't have much to blog anyways! But no fear--vacation pictures will follow after we return:)

phew

phew....these last 3 weeks have been so busy and time consuming. This time next week we will, hopefully, be reunited with Ben....I heard United had some computer glitch this weekend and a bunch of flights were canceled and delayed...thank goodness it is this weekend and not next.

So my Mom has been here this week and it has been AWESOME! Sophia stayed home with her all wee and enjoyed her toys and comfort of her own home :)  My Mom helped me to pour concrete and put up my new clothesline! Do you even know how excited I am?! SOOO excited!!  So here are pictures of the process:

Freshly dug holes:

Figuring out how to mix the concrete:

Concrete in the hole:

The bottom of our bucket broke and this is what happened to our concrete. NOT cool:

Putting in the poles this morning!:

FINISHED!!!:

Ready for clothing!:

I LOVE clothes that come fresh off the line and can't wait to use it!!

Yesterday I took the day off work and went garage saleing and thrifting with my Mom and Sophia. Here are 2 awesome things I found:

Fisher Price mixer..pretty sure I always loved this when I was little:

And who knew I would EVER find these---at Goodwill. The book on the right was my FAVORITE songbook as a kid...I still know all the songs. They were the Sunday School books from when I was little!! Oh I was so excited!!:

and here are random Sophia pics from the week:

Today we have a block party so I guess we will be heading out there to hang out with the neighbors. I am also thinking of finally getting in the pool..hopefully the water will not be too cold..

40 weeks

I had a hard time choosing between these 2 photos...one regular smile,  one cheesy smile. I decided to put them both up :) Sometimes she loves to make that cheesy face when the camera comes out.... it cracks me up

39 weeks & 9 months

Is it even possible that Sophia is 9 months!? Wow. At the same time she is such a busy little thing that there is no denying her age:)  The weekly pictures have gone downhill in a major way-I just get what I can:)

And this picture? This picture shows Sophia in her true form. I tried to get her to lay down for the picture--like I have done the other 8 months...she laid down for a few split seconds...and the wrong direction. OH WELL. I take what I can get from my busy body girl.

and one more random Sophia picture for your Sunday night viewing pleasure:

Much better

The front porch paneling is finally painted and looks...ooohhh so much better! If I wasn't so worn out I would take real photos of before and after.. Maybe tomorrow. Instead you will have to deal with this cell phone photo. I barely had enough paint and used every single last drop of the can. It makes me much happier to see painted walls rather than hideous white wood paneling. No more wood paneling in this house. My next paint project are the front cement steps. The paint is chipping and looks so bad when you walk up to the house.

Sophia and I played pretty much all day. Well, she pulled up and stood all over the house and I supervised. I am now laying on the couch watching tv by myself--thank goodness for her 7:00 bed time.
Anyways...2 more weeks and we are in Boston! I.can't.wait!

lately

Life is busy. That is pretty much all I can say. I haven't been doing my treadmill running and guess what? It doesn't matter because I seem to be so busy at home that it seems to be enough of a work out. The biggest source of my "busy-ness"?! Oh that would be Miss Sophia. Yes, she is not only pulling up to standing but tried to get on top of her baby piano last night to reach some toys. SERIOUSLY? I'm pretty sure walking will be happening in no time. She has taken a couple steps over when playing with toys. So yes, since Ben has left and she has started pulling up and getting into EVERYTHING life has not stopped.

After she goes to bed I try to do things like prime the front porch ugly wood paneling so I can paint it an acceptable color, weed the garden and plant more veggies, check the pool chemical levels, mow the grass, do laundry, prepare lunch for Sophia to take to day care, etc etc...you know--a little bit of everything.

We are now down to 16 days until we fly out to see Ben. I am still a bit worried about Sophia and this plane trip...she is not one to sit still..ever. But at least it is only 2 hours and I'm hoping to all hope that she loves to look around and watch people and decides to be quiet...ha...Then I flash back to reality--good luck with that Christy.

I ordered a clothesline for my backyard too! My mom is going to be up next week and we are going to set it up. I can't wait!! I love the scent and feel of freshly hung clothing--plus the savings when I am not using the dryer!

That is my life lately..busy and just kind of doing whatever!

This makes me happy

Yes, that is my garden...full of wonderfully growing plants. I know, I know--there are weeds and grass growing abundantly as well- but I can't do much about that. Things are growing just fine with the grass. After my flop of a garden last year I am super excited for what this year will provide!
