Start

So I am going full force with a garden this year. I have fencing and rabbit scram to keep out the pesky rabbits and have purchased a plethora of seed packets. Tonight I started some tomatoes and green peppers in a little peat pellet green house. Next step-tilling the garden. Here is to hoping for many yummy veggies!

Much Better

At home this weekend my mom helped hem some curtains we wanted for our basement. We have super ugly, slat type, sliding doors dividing the laundry room from the kitchen. We hung the curtains in front of them and they are ugly no more! So thank you Mom!:)

lover of the day

so we have an 11 year old neighbor girl who comes over often to play with Oliver in the backyard. She is also on Facebook and both Ben and I are friends with her.  So Facebook has all these applications that you can find out like warrior of the day, friend of the day, etc. I think it randomly selects people on your friends list and then puts up a notification. Last night I saw this:

Yes...that is right...she used the Lover of the day application and discovered it was Ben.....holy cow I could not stop laughing last night or this morning for that matter....

Last night ben took the dog out for a bathroom break. he asked me to but i was going to refill my cup with more water...so i said..."Aww..cant you do it? I'll get more water for you too!"-and because Ben is nice like that, he agreed. Well...first he couldn't find the poop and stepped in it-and he was wearing his slippers....when he went to pick it up the bag had a hole in it and he got poop on his hand. Whoops...maybe I should of taken the dog out after all....?

whoops

So I keep my itouch in my purse at all times-when I am bored or need entertainment  I can play one of my bazillion games. Anyways...I put my itouch in a little ipod sock while in my purse so it does not get scratched:

6 Pack Beanie Caps/Socks For All Apple iPods, Cell Phones MP3 players, Zune, Zen, and SanDisk Sansa

Oliver is in love with these ipod socks and any chance he gets he will steal them. I had one in my purse-hidden deep down-bc I was using my itouch last night. I figured he would never find it. He did...the punk..dug through my purse and pulled it out. So as I was taking a shower I hear Ben yelling at him and chasing him-the yelling and chasing thing is a daily occurrence in our house-Oliver loves to steal things. So back and forth back and forth  they go. Meanwhile I finish my shower. I get out and brush my teeth, put on lotion etc... and then all of a sudden it hits me...after putting lotion on and starting to get dressed...whoops..I forgot to wash with soap! AHHH. How the heck did I forget? Thank you Oliver for distracting me. So I think-well-I did rinse off with water and maybe I can just deal with it-bc I don't want to be super late to work? For a few minutess I ponder that. Then I think-no..I can not do that..I will think about it all day-how I did not use soap and I will just feel gross all day. So I hopped back in the shower...and used soap. now i feel much better about myself and my personal hygiene.

This weekend I am taking a trip home to Fisher...haven't been home since Christmas. Ben and Oliver will NOT be joining me...they will, most likely, be sitting on the couch and playing Just Cause 2....all...weekend. Which is fine with me bc I won't be there to hear the killing and shooting echoing throughout the house. But I am looking forward to going home.  Easter weekend we are flying to DC to visit Bens parents. I have never been to DC. I am hoping the cherry blossoms will be blooming and there will be much prettiness.

whats going on

so what have we been up to around here since we got back? well...catching up on sleep and getting back into life..  The most exciting thing I have done all week was the REI garage sale this morning. Nikki and I went and stood in the rain/snow for a half hour to get good deals..and amazingly good deals we got--the snow and rain was totally worth it. I added up the amount of my purchases at a normal price---727.00 and I paid just under 200.  Awesome. The 2 best buys were a $200 North Face Jacket for 30 bucks-with a supposedly broken zipper. I put a little beeswax on the zipper and it seems to work just great-which is awesome. I also got a pair of $110 Keen boots for 30 bucks..I have wanted theses for awhile just didn't want to pay that much for them..  Nikki and I came away quite excited. So here is a picture list of some of the great deals for ben and me:

Home Sweet Home

We are home and I could not be happier:) We had such an awesome trip but there is always something good about coming home---especially after a 9 hour flight. Our flight was fairly uneventful-just full of some odd people. We were able to keep ourselves awake until 10 last night (and thank goodness for daylight savings time and the extra hour) and slept in til about 8 this morning and it was WONDERFUL. We have both felt rather awake and normal today so I am hoping we beat the worst of the jet lag. Now it is back to reality and real life.  Here are the last pictures from Paris...our little cozy hotel room the morning we left:

Paris Day 3

We did it! We conquered Paris:)  So our final day is over and we are exhausted....actually quite ready to go home. So....here is rundown of today thanks to Ben: First we went to Cimitiere de Pere-Lachaise which was full of so many cool old graves, then we took the train to Luxembourg Jardins which would probably be much prettier in the summer-but still neat, found a cool bookstore and bought a few kids books in french, went to the Louvre Gardens, went to another cool bookstore and bought a couple more books, hopped back on the train, went to see Hotel des Invalides, next door was Musee Rodin-which was such a cool museum-saw The Thinker and many other great works, our last stop of the day was the Eiffel Tower. We ended up walking up the stairs because the line for the elevator was almost 2 hours long so we walked-and it was not nearly as bad as I thought and actually kinda cool. So..we made it to the first floor and Ben convinced me to walk to the 2nd floor-and didn't think I could make it-but I did...and then we took an elevator to the very tip top..and it was an amazing view. We ended our night at a nice little cafe near our hotel and a walk down the street with the Moulin Rouge... and now its time to pack up for our flight back home tomorrow!!
