soon....

Last night I was burning some photos from my iphoto onto a dvd and came across this photo...I had it on my blog once before..it is me on my mom just seconds after being born. And I look like a pretty healthy sized little babe-so here is to hoping my little girl will be as well. Then I realized in a week or so I am going to be holding my own babe just seconds after birth. Crazy, yet so exciting and I am SO ready!

Tomorrow I have a Dr. appt with none other than the good looking guy doctor in the practice-lucky me. But hopefully he can give me some good news on how things are progressing--despite the fact that I am not a fan of going to guy doctors when you have to bare it all;)  Sigh..what does it matter though....I figure even if he is the one to deliver for me-I don't care....as long as he knows what he is doing and can help get this babe out of me I will be his best friend.....

a few days from 39

well my blog readers....there it is...the almost 39 week tummy...oliver is able to rest on it while I hold him-yah..its big....and uncomfortable. Nothing much has happened around here this weekend...went to a kids resale yesterday and got a few things.......ran errands, bought a baby swing, and went swimming in the pool....today I will be doing the same....swimming...its supposed to be hot and so I will be spending my afternoon where it is cool....

since I FINALLY uploaded pics off my camera I have a few from the shower last week as well-with the washpod and moby wrap (thanks hilary!)---definitely 2 of my favorite gifts:)  :

one of the last

I realized this weekend it is definitely one of the last that Ben and I will have to ourselves...not much longer! On Saturday we had our shower at church and got lots of great stuff..I have pictures but I am too lazy to get them off my camera:) Soooo maybe another time.  Before the shower I went to some garage sales and got a few clothes and toys BUT the best buy of all was this--Rainforest Bouncer:

Fisher-Price Rainforest Bouncer

and it was $5.00!!  I was so excited when the lady said 5 bucks....I have been watching for these all summer and people always way overcharge for them.....so for 5.00 I was on it. I took the little cover off and washed it and seriously--good as new. And 5.00 compared to 55.00...can't complain. After the shower I dropped Ben off at the MicroBrew and Food Review in Oak Park and he drank all the beer samples he could drink.....so it was a great day for all of us.

Today consisted of church, pool time, and lazying around....tonight is yet another wonderful episode of True Blood and I can't wait...loovee that show!

hanging in there

Yep, thats whats i have been doing this week...hanging in there. The other day I made a comment to Ben about how I wasn't all that uncomfortable that day and things were going pretty well considering I am 37 weeks . WHAT WAS I THINKING? because the last couple days have NOT been comfortable. Uggg...lesson learned-don't speak so soon:)

We have our church baby shower tomorrow afternoon-which I am really looking forward too. I also have a few garage sales I have written down to check out before the shower-we all know my love for sales-you know-just for some last minute things-a few  more long sleeve onesies and stuff like that:) Otherwise I plan to take it easy and relax.....every time I am sitting around doing nothing I tell myself---you must enjoy this because there isn't much more "sit around and do nothing" time left..but I'm ready....ready to get this show on the road!

Burp Cloths

I went to put my sewing machine away and remembered I still had some chenille and cute fabric left. So I whipped out some more burp rags. My machine was acting up something annoying but I finally managed to finish and they look pretty cute!:)

nothing much

Yep that's what my weekend consisted of. Nothing much. Saturday I ran errands, got a hair cut-which I don't think I have done since christmas, and swam in my pool all afternoon-it was wonderful!

Today I went to church and then... swam in the pool some more-this time with Nikki and her main man Dan. And we swam all afternoon-ahhhh it was fabulous.

Anyways...this green pepper is growing in my garden as well as a few others. My tomato plants are exploding with tomatoes and man are they so delicious! I love fresh garden food!!:) And I must say, I am quite pleased that these little plants conquered the ear wig invasion and have come this far! Even my okra plants are growing and I thought for sure they were goners!! Yah!!

So tomorrow is 37 weeks my friends-we have made it to full term-AHHH. Now a few more weeks to keep cooking and she will be here! Tomorrow is, yet another, doctor appointment. I will be gulping down large amounts of water before this one-in hopes that this little chicks heartbeat will be in the normal range!

36 weeks

There it is folks....the 36 week pregnant belly taken in a dirty mirror-sorry. Yep...its definitely not something that can be hidden.  But luckily that is not a maternity dress and according to my Dr. I have only gained 24 lbs. They say for my height and weight 25-30 lbs is what you should gain....so I am right on track....phew....:

wiggle worm

So I have now  for sure resigned myself to the fact that we are going to have a super active baby--obviously taking after me-her mother-the lucky little girl. i better bust out the ritalin early-jk. I had my weekly Dr. appt today and the heartbeat was a bit high AGAIN! So they put me on the monitors and made me drink ridiculous amounts of water-and after about an hour all was good. Thankfully I didn't have to to go the hospital and I also realized something. I drink alot of water and am pretty careful to get alot throughout the day BUT these last 2 appointments have been at 9 am and I don't usually drink water until I get to work-meaning-I need more water so the heartbeat isn't so high. So note to self...drink lots of water before the next appointment.

But how did I come to the conclusion that this baby is going to be super active?  Well #1-I am an ADD girl and in my opinion ADD is genetic.....I can trace it all through my family..and usually it gets passed on to a least 1 child...this is very likely the one.  #2-this baby moves like crazy. Today it took an hour to get a good solid reading because she was moving so much. The Dr. finally said.."Ok, I give up-this reading is good enough...she is such a wiggle worm." So right there I thought-once again..this baby is a busy one. Hence why I am stocking up on swaddling gear, maybe a noise machine, vibrating bouncers, and will be in close touch with my parents as to how they dealt with me as a baby:) At the same time many of the problems I had as a child are no different in my life now--- trouble sleeping, needing less stimulation at times in life, quietness and darkness needed often, etc etc...So I think I can at least understand what she will be dealing with (in a round about way) and be able to help her....I hope...and then again maybe I will be pleasantly surprised and she will be like Ben...yet, it might be a rough first few weeks.....bring it on little baby!

Attempt

So this is my attempt at making a cute applique onesie. I found some old, stained white onesies at a garage sale to practice on. I thought I would try sewing it on without first ironing it on because I have been too lazy to go by iron on paper. Yah. Didn't work. I need to iron it on first-and heck if I iron it on I may not even feel like sewing around it. Anyways- it could certainly look super cute and I'm all about making various shapes and designs..just need to go about it the right way:)

Tonight I ran to walmart because we were almost out of toilet paper. While in line some man taps me on my shoulder and says "How many months?". I say-"Only one left" and he says "Well congratulations you look great-its a great reason to be fat" I say "ammm... thanks?!". The cashier than says "Well you must be doing something right to have men flirting with you and being this far along-that never happened to me" I said..."Well, maybe its because I'm not wearing my wedding ring and I sure hope he wasn't flirting-ewwww". And she mumbles on about how she was not happy being pregnant and so on-I just smiled and nodded. None the less who says that to someone?! I was thinking-are you kidding me sir? You could of just kept walking and most definitely thought that on your own little mind. Ugg. I should know-its always eventful when I take a trip to Wal-Mart. Never a dull moment in that store.

hello 36 weeks

Hello to 36 weeks..I am quite happy to meet you because you mean 1 week until this baby is officially full term and 4 weeks until the due date....both things that make me a very happy person.

My weekend was not super exciting....but still fun. Nikki and I went into the city on Saturday to hit up some shops we had wanted to go to. The first was the Tag Outlet (actually I think it goes by 1730 outlet...I'm not sure) and it was great! All sorts of cheap awesome stuff. I think alot of their stuff is sold at Crate and Barrel and places like that. It was in a random location but we loved looking around-and of course, buying things. I also found out they have a store in Woodridge near 355/55...so I guess I'll have to hit that up some day.  After that we went to Uncle Fun & Paper Boy on Belmont-both awesome stores-and finished off at Be By Baby. I needed a washable diaper pail liner and snappis for the cloth diapers and I knew they sold them there and since it was so close to the other stores we stopped by. I was less than impressed with the customer service-but got what I needed. I guess I didn't look quite affluent enough to be shopping there-ha. So then we came home and had some yummy pizza for dinner and had a lazy eve.

Sunday consisted of church, being lazy, going in my pool, doing a bit of cleaning, and cleaning old stickers off a toy box that used to be mine (and nikkis-and I think nikki might of been the one to "deface" it with stickers ;) Anyways...it looks great now and fits in the baby room closet perfectly-so we can store some toys and other stuff in there.

That, my friends, is the extent of my weekend. I have a Dr. appt tomorrow morning and hopefully everything will be in tip top shape this time-I will let you know! I think the Dr. is the one I don't like who told me I gained too much weight--uggg....but to my credit the other Dr. said it must of been a fluke in the reading because my weight is right on. So who knows what she will have to tell me tomorrow!:)

Another decoration

I saw some butterfly wall decorations online the other day and thought they were so cute. Then I realized I could totally make them myself. So I found a butterfly pattern....made different sizes and created these little butterflies and used a bone folder to crease them right where the wings were. Tonight I hung them on the wall above the changing table in the baby room and I think they look pretty cute..I need to add a few more to finish it off...

Btw....have I filled you in on the name for this little girl? Well its.....Sophia. Yep. The one name Ben and I both liked and agreed upon:). We are leaning towards Cosette as the middle name--yes, like the girls name in Les Miserables and also much like my middle name-Collette. Sophia Cosette. I think I like it.

strewn

This morning as I walked to the garage I noticed the door was slightly ajar...I figured one of us had not shut it well and the heavy rains and wind had pushed it open. BUT when I walked over to my car I noticed all the contents of my glove compartment and various car compartments strewn across the floor and front seat. I thought-did I take stuff out of the glove compartment yesterday and not put it back? AMMM..no christy! Someone was in your car! AHHH...so I ran in to tell Ben. Luckily his car was locked so nothing happened there and nothing was taken from our garage either. And they sure didn't find anything good in my car. Everything was still there....sunglasses, kleenex packets, maps, car registration-all things a thief is definitely not on the hunt for! HA.  And thankfully when my grandparents bought this car-before it was mine-they bought the bare bones edition-no cd or tape player, manual locks, etc..  So in other words-my car contains nothing desirable-thankfully. They didn't even want my phone or ipod charger. So...lesson learned-we need to make sure to always lock the garage door (yes, Mom...I know-you told me that:)  and car doors as well...and from now on we will.  It always just weirds me out when stuff like this happens-I get a weird feeling thinking someone was rifling through my personal stuff....  So I called the police to let them know it happened and I guess I have to fill out a report for them to keep on file.....so i'll be going there after work. Oh the fun/adventures of life.

giant

sometimes at church people bring extra vegetables and set them outside for people to take home...I saw this one yesterday and couldn't pass it up because I LOVE zucchini and because its GIANT! How in the world did someone grow one this large in their garden I keep asking myself? I'm quite jealous. I put it next to a kool-aid packet so you can see the size:

The zucchini is not the only giant thing around here.  I am 35 weeks pregnant today and wishing I was 40. Seriously...I am SO done with being pregnant. I am tired, uncomfortable, peeing all the time, dealing with heartburn/indigestion, have a hard time sleeping, etc.....so ready for this baby to be out of me. Yes, I know its not going to be easy once this baby is out either...but at least it won't be in my body wreaking havoc.  Obviously I want this little girl to stay in as long as possible to be as healthy as possible-BUT I am ready right.now....I can truly say I am not a fan of being pregnant.
