New Friend

Today I bought a new friend. This giant heart pillow. I have been lusting after this pillow since the minute I set eyes on it at Target. I thought I could wait until after Valentines Day when it would be on sale, but who knows if they would still have them. Ssssoo I snatched it up today and am happily cuddling up to it tonight :). (I'm sure Sophia will love it someday too)

yet again...videos

well....looks like I have more videos for your viewing pleasure!  Sophia is a champ on her tummy! Just a few weeks ago she had a hard time doing much while being on her tummy---no more! She can even reach and grab things while on it. At night she rolls on her tummy quite often and then gets mad because she can't roll back...even though I have watched her do it before--I guess when at 2 am she is just too tired to figure it out- why not scream and cry so Mom and Dad come help!:)

Looks like a massive snow storm is headed our direction...lovely...actually 18 inches has been forecast!! That is crazy BUT could be rather fun--if I am at home snug and warm that is:)  We got a snow blower from Bens grandma and I am not sure when it was last used-so we are going to fire it up tonight in preparation---hopefully it decides to work-otherwise we will be taking shifts shoveling all that snow off the sidewalks. OH and don't worry--I will take photos if we get as much as they say.... ;)

loving the cereal

Sophia has become a big fan of rice cereal--so big in fact that she even knows when to open her mouth for more:)

AND..I MUST see this movie. #1--I love garden gnomes, #2-I love cartoons , #3-I enjoy the story of Romeo and Juliet-no matter how far fetched this one may be. You know-I loved the Romeo and Juliet version with Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes-I own it-- But this movie....I might like it more:

In other news..I now weight 1 lb less than what I weighed when I got pregnant with Sophia. Thank you busy life for helping me lose those last few pounds of baby!:)

So I have this strange ability to get whatever I want from AT&T. I have been an AT&T customer since hmm...I think 2001--is that not ridiculous!? I am definitely a long time, upstanding customer. I have had about a gazillion phones and a few years back I wanted a Razr....so I got it. It was good..and then they came out with a newer version and I had problem after problem with it. No lie, I went through 4 different Razrs in a few months--they even sent me to the secret replacement store up north to get a new one. I got so fed up with it. Then I met Ben and he had a Blackberry and I was instantly in love. I called AT&T and complained YET again about this stupid Razr and how I really wanted a smart phone--and wouldn't you know-- they said I could get one-way before my contract was up. I made sure they noted it on my account and I went into the store that day. The store didn't believe me-because they phone rep was offering such a great price. They made me call AT&T and what do you know....right there on my account it was noted--and I got the phone. The store reps were in shock-" We have never sold one this cheap". So the Curve and I were good friends....for awhile...then the new Curve came out and what did I do? Called AT&T again..truthfully it was having major battery issues. And what do you know? Time for another update before it was supposed to happen....fast forward to today. My contract is up this next month but this stupid Blackberry keeps crashing and doing dumb things. So what did I do? You got it! I complained to AT&T and what did they do? Called the store in Oak Park and told them I would be stopping by tonight and getting it for the cheap price...I just have to ask for Mike. Somehow I always have this way with customer service people and always get things replaced....and I think it is awesome.  So tonight--Blackberry Torch-with your awesome touch screen and 5 mp camera and new OS....you will be my new best friend and I.Can't.Wait. Yes, it is true..I do love electronics...especially new ones:

poopsmith

I checked out some cds for Sophia at the library. One of them was For the Kids Three. I popped it in and gave it a listen. Much to my surprise I came across the song "The Poopsmith" by Over the Rhine. It makes me laugh every time....and hopefully it will be of great help to Sophia some day:)

If you don't feel like listening to it here are the lyrics:

The Poopsmith

Not on your arm
Not on your leg
Not in the toast
Not in the eggs
Not on the carpet
Nor the linoleum
Just how'd your little brother get it smeared all over him

Poop in the potty, poop goes in the potty
x4

Not on your brother
not on your sis
not on any family member, you might wanna make a list

not on the plants
not in your hair
not on the porch
no, we do not want to share

Poop in the potty, poop goes in the potty
x4

Not on the swing
not on the slide
not while we're spinnin' on a carnival ride
not on the window
not on the wall
no more surprises on the light switch down the hall

hey!

Poop in the potty, poop goes in the potty
x4

Not in the yard
you're on your honor
don't go gettin' no ideas from the neighbors weimereiner

Poop in the potty, poop goes in the potty...

some stuff

Apparently I grind my teeth at night....and apparently my dentist said we discussed this once. I don't remember ever discussing it but the work I had done today was because of my teeth being ground down-- and now the whole left side of my face is numb...and its lunch time..delightful.

Yesterday I ran into Ultra Foods for some groceries. As I was leaning in to get some cilantro- the veggie sprinklers came on--and I got sprayed with a little water. As I turned around the toothless man behind me said "Got caught in the rain-huh" I laughed and ran away as fast as possible. It was a bit funny but just not from that particular man.

And now for some video fun....a video of Sophia loving on Oliver or more appropriately titled--Oliver loves to lick anything near his mouth-especially Sophia AND Sophia showing off her new talent..blowing raspberries. She blew many of them in church yesterday and when I went into her room at 2 am to check on her. She sees us and blows them....I guess it is her new way of saying hello.

19 weeks

so what is 19 week old Sophia up to? Well let me tell you--in fact, I have a video that I will post later---last night Ben and I were making noises with our mouths...like raspberries....and she was trying SO hard all night to make them back. Until she went to bed she was trying and trying her hardest. This morning when I woke her up the first thing she did was make the noises while I was changing her diaper. HA.  She has been doing them every spare chance she gets---all throughout church and while we were eating lunch. Definitely enjoying her new found talent.

Attempt...

I am attempting to teach myself a new craft...knitting. I have crochet down---down enough to know what to do--but I always see so many fun knit patterns. So I bought the "I Taught Myself Knitting" kit and am attempting to learn. Thankfully it came with a free dvd so I could visually see how to cast on. Yep...I'm still working on casting on..but I'm getting there... Slowly. And I am bound and determined to figure this out!

could.not.pass.up

Yep...that's right. I came across another great thrift store deal I could.not.pass.up. I come across good deals pretty much every week (because I can't stay away from the thrift stores around here), but some are a bit more exceptional- i.e. this timbuk2 bag. Brand new, even had the cross strap still in the plastic bag in the front pouch. Normally these bags are like $70-80 bucks or to customize it exactly like this one--$110...I have an XS one I have always loved and use often, but never anything more. I am now the owner of this S one and only for...ready for it?...$8.00! Normally $8 bucks is a bit steep when it comes to my thrift store shopping--I have thrift store standards folks--many of them...but for a bag such as this...8 bucks is a steal and I lowered my standards immediately.  I think I may use it as another diaper bag. No matter what it is used for I will definitely get my money worth out of it.

4 month check up

Sophia did splendid at her appointment today. She is now 15 lbs and 25 inches long--making her in the 95th percentile for weight and 80th for height....she is tall for her age...however that works with a 4 month old-ha. But she is right.on.track for everything and even got the go ahead for rice cereal. SOOOO we attempted a bit tonight....it went ok--more got on her clothing than mouth-but that was to be expected.:)

A bath was quite necessary after the rice cereal fest...

Tomorrow is her 4 month appt. so I'll fill you in on all the exciting details!:)

Girls night

Ben is away at his weekly Tuesday night PTG meeting so that leaves Sophia and I to hang out...we took some pictures with my phone. I guess that wore her out because she is fast asleep with my hair in her hand. Her new thing is holding onto and touching my hair while she lays on my shoulder. I guess it must be comforting. :)

Hyperbolic Crochet

Since I seem to have no time to start, or continue projects for that matter, I have been crocheting this Hyperbolic Plane. Yah...I don't know what the heck it is either...it just looks fun and is easy to make. I guess it has something to do with hyperbolic geometry. Anything with a slight relation to math I avoid. But this particular thing doesn't require any. Ha. What will I do with it when done? Probably nothing. Ha. I guess there is a crochet coral reef project where people are crocheting these and putting them on display... www.crochetcoralreef.org.

Anyways.. that's what I have been up to when not obsessing over my child:)

Virgo

Yes my friends..I am now a Virgo. Looks like the astrological signs have changed and I am no longer Libra. AHHH....my whole life has been centered around me being a Libra... I mean, am I incompatible with certain people now? Has my whole horoscope been a sham? Oh what will I do with myself. Ok....I'm kidding.. I totally could care less about my zodiac sign. But I am sure a number of people will not be caring less.

Anyways..not much else is going on around here....Sophia has officially rolled over! Twice I went into her room and there she was...asleep on her belly! It worries me a bit, yet she is old enough to move her head if need be and really...I can't stop her or keep checking on her in the night. She is still getting a bottle about 2 am but tonight we are going to try to skip that--I don't think she necessarily needs it--I think she wakes up more out of habit...we'll see how that goes..

Otherwise not much is going on...besides my astrological sign turning my zodiac world upside down. ;)
