christmas has started

yep...christmas has started in our house. today we went to menards for some stuff we needed and also bought a christmas tree. And guess what?!  The tree rang in at $20... why that cheap? who knows...but we didn't complain because it is an awesome tree! So I helped hold up the tree while ben secured the bottom of it...

Then we hung ornaments and lights

and here are a few of my favorite ornaments.....(note i forgot to take the "made in china" sticker off the red one....im pretty sure i could make this in my own house....possibly my next craft venture...)

and no tree is complete without a mini grand piano...

Even Oliver got in on the fun...this was also when we realized we hung some of the ornaments a bit low...

Nikki came over and we worked on our crafts for the upcoming craft show we are participating in. I am making necklaces, earrings, and button rings. This is how I will be displaying them...i love these jewelry trees....hopefully others will also love them and decide they need to own some of my jewelry. i am not holding out much hope.....but it will be fun none the less...

i am a bit sad that thanksgiving "break" has come to an end. its so nice to have time off. in the mean time i am enjoying the lovely scent of the tree and glow of the lights and trying not to think about tomorrow being monday...

Another Thanksgiving done and another great day! Bunches of good food, family, fun, etc etc..... even oliver had a grand old time..  i didnt get this posted til today because i didnt have time.....we just got back from shopping and got all the things we hoped for....didn't even have to get up early-which was awesome. now its time for some relaxing...

the button

last night i was making a little craft...a button ring....i found a super cute blue, kinda glittery button and i was working on gluing it on the ring and seeing if it would stick and all. So..it was done..and drying. Then I became thirsty so i took a drink of water out of my 7-11 Wolverine Slurpee glass....and dropped the glass...on the table....and water went everywhere. In the fury of my clean up I knocked the ring on the floor. I forgot about the ring until I saw the ring part about 10 mins. later sitting on the floor. But...no button. Sad..where did it go? Then I recalled Oliver eating all the fallen ice cubes off the floor and realized.....my button was probably also taken up into his little mouth..great. So...Ben and I hoped it would all come out ok and there would be no button blockage. This morning Ben takes him out to go to the bathroom and what appears on the ground amidst all his nasty poop.....my button. My cute, blue, glittery button...Ben asked if I wanted it....ammm.....no thanks...

nothing much

i have been so boring lately...geez..nothing to even write on the blog:(   i did buy curtains for the dining room and bedroom today....the only pic i could find for the bedroom ones are the dark brown tie up...but i bought them in a cream color. we had pull down shades and i about couldnt handle it anymore....so it was time for these:

other than that nothing overly exciting has been happening.....i am looking way forward to thanksgiving though!! and 2 days off....always a nice break..:)  then nikki and i have to get all our crafts ready for a craft show we are going to....to try to sell some goods..I guess we will see how it goes and then maybe we can do some other craft shows....but im not hoping too much...:)
